By Stokkebye ApS has received funding from The European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development
(Den Europæiske Landbrugsfond for Udvikling af Landdistrikterne) for two projects.
The aim of the first project “Development and Marketing of Stokkebye Vineyard’s and its products”
is to further develop the wines, increase the sales, incl. to a broader target group,
increase PR and communications efforts and to open the vineyard for visitors.
This project was implemented in the period May 2015 – August 2018.
THE DIRECT RESULTS OF THE PROJECTS ARE
- Development of new wines and labels as well as further development
of the existing white wines, sparkling and liquor wines.
- Launch of a new website with webshop
- Development of a communication strategy
- Furnishing of a wine tasting room
- Establishment of a room for wine equipment
The second project ”Establishment of a winery at Stokkebye Vineyard” was implemented in the period
January 2017 – November 2018. As the title says, the aim was to establish a winery at the vineyard so all
processes of the wine production could take place in-house.
The processes are crushing, pressing, fermentation, aging and bottling of the wine.
The winery has been established in an old beautiful barn from 1931 at the neighboring farm which was acquired in May 2018.
Stokkebye Vineyard expects to be able to attract even more visitors to the vineyard, with the possibility of also visiting the winery.
An important overall result of the projects is the employment of a winemaker from 2019.
